Tiffany Mackay was born and raised in the California Bay Area. At 19, she set off on an adventure, sailing around the world in the superyacht industry, visiting over 20 countries and immersing herself in diverse cultures.

A lover of micro and short poetry, especially Japanese haiku and tanka, Tiffany found a connection with Zen philosophy and impressionism. Influenced by Degas, Monet, Sorolla, and Elizabeth Mowry, she discovered that soft pastels perfectly captured nature-inspired moments.

Tiffany's artistic journey is informed by her travels, from the Mediterranean coast to the Caribbean, New England, Sardinia, and Cape Town. Self-taught, she inherited her love of art from her father's side of the family, spending weekends creating with her Nana and watching her father engrave calligraphy.

After being discouraged from pursuing art in school, Tiffany studied technical communications in college. It was only much later, during the pivotal years of 2020 and 2021, that she reconnected with her artistic passion. Experimenting with various mediums, she finally found her true love in Sennelier pastels.

Nature is Tiffany's greatest muse—the quiet moments of morning, the insights of sunset, the changing seasons, and the cycle of life. Her work often reflects the insights captured in a simple haiku or tanka. Quotes like "twilight—against the darkening sky, a sprinkle of stars" embody her artistic vision.

Today, Tiffany resides in Sacramento with her husband and their two cats. She paints daily, bringing beauty into every day, living fully in the present. Embracing her art has been a long journey, but it has led her to a place of peace and fulfillment. Tiffany is grateful for her journey and the joy she finds in her work, sharing it with those who seek the serene beauty of nature through her eyes.
